Steven Solomon has a wealth of experience within the nonprofit sector, having spent the past 30 years working with all types of nonprofit entities. He has been writing grants for 20+ years and has been awarded more than $150 million in grant awards during his career.

From inception to execution, Steven has experience in all aspects of the grant lifecycle, including selection, conceptualization, writing, and implementation.

Steven has worked for and with nonprofit and private businesses, multiple state agencies, healthcare systems, law enforcement entities, local governments, and various social service agencies. Steven is an expert at program development, grant writing, business plan creation, grant management, accountability, statistical analysis, training, board development, federal and state compliance, public outreach and partnership development, strategic planning, leadership development, and implementation of risk and mitigation strategies. Further, Steven created and oversaw systems for awarding state and federal grant dollars to nonprofits.

Steven recognizes the unique challenges that nonprofits face and is dedicated to helping our clients succeed despite those challenges. He brings his passion and expertise to work every day. Steven will collaborate with you to develop and prioritize customizable solutions that will increase the impact of each and every dollar, thus ensuring the continued success of your programs.

Steven also serves as the Vice President and Director of Program and Grant Development at Merchant McIntyre.

Most recently, Steven served as the Director of Grants and Special Projects for Tallahassee Community College (TCC), which has five campuses and 15,000 students across a three-county area. He oversaw all grant writing and procurement activities and worked with the TCC Foundation on many different fundraising initiatives.

While at TCC, Steven identified grants and assembled teams and partners, and created programs aligned with the College’s strategic plan. He submitted and received numerous grant awards from federal/state/local governments, national foundations, and businesses.

Steven also enacted necessary policies and procedures within the College to implement best practices when applying for and managing grant funding.

Steven earned a B.A. from Washington College, an M.L.A. from Harvard University, and did postgraduate work at Florida State University.

When not working, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters, and three grandsons. Steven also enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling. He especially enjoyed living in Australia.
